A Hungarian company may be liquidated in accordance with the statutory liquidation procedure.
For a company not performing any activity, the liquidation procedure takes at least 180 days, while in the case of an active company at least 270 days are required. According to the requirements of the law, in order to liquidate a company, it is necessary to use two lawyers authorised to oversee liquidation, as well as an accountant. The terms of the liquidation must also be published in certain defined media, so that any possible creditors can file claims for compensation.
